Maggie Jones
Biologist
Maggie was born and raised in South Carolina in the United States. Growing up, she spent a lot of her time outside in the woods by her house, observing and enjoying the natural world around her. She developed a great fascination with the natural world and the forces that drive it.
After her years of general education, Maggie decided that she wanted to pursue a biology degree at university. That is what she is currently doing as a double major in Biology and Computational Biology with plans to pursue a doctoral degree in Genetics.
In May of 2024, she had the opportunity to visit the incredible Galapagos islands with the Biology Department of her college for two classes on Environmental Photography and the Natural History of the Galapagos. After spending two weeks on Santa Cruz, Isabela, and Floreana islands (and a few days in the Ecuadorian Highlands), and taking many photos to go along with it, she returned to the US even more passionate about the incredible world we live in.
